Farlow Joins Tourism Council
Congratulations to Keith Farlow, co-owner of Farlow’s on the Water, for being appointed to the Tourism Development Council for Charlotte County. This state-mandated board’s main purpose is to oversee and advise on the spending of bed tax dollars. His appointment gives West County the opportunity to balance the council which was heavily weighted towards Punta Gorda and the accommodation industry.

Englewood Community Hospital Open House Highlight E.R Expansion
Englewood Community Hospital (ECH,) 700 Medical Blvd., showed off its new Emergency Room (ER) with an Open House on February 29th. The hospital received a $9 million investment to expand the ER, which will allow the hospital to add capacity, improve workflow and renovate & modernize the space. Guests were able to tour the ER and meet with team members, including ER Director Kristine Sedra (pictured here.) The event hosted many community members including the Leadership Englewood Class of 2020. The care team of ECH provided education about a variety of topics including stroke and heart attack, sepsis, proper hand washing, patient care technology, hands only CPR and a teddy bear clinic for the kids. Bayflite helicopter, Charlotte County Sheriff’s Department and Charlotte County Fire / EMS teams were also there to provide community education. The ECH team finds it extremely valuable to educate the community on healthcare and how they can partner to ensure they are play an active role in your healthcare decisions.
