Sunrise Rotary Donation Helps Buy Food For Christmas

Elks raise $1600 for homeless vets
The Englewood Elks held a dinner dance to raise funds to help homeless veterans. They raised $1,600 and the proceeds were given to the Charlotte County Homeless Coalition which helps homeless veterans all over Southwest Florida. Moose Lodge donates turkeys to local charities

On November 10th, Englewood Moose Lodge #1933 donated six cases of turkey to St. David’s Jubilee Center for their Thanksgiving dinner boxes. (See the cover.) Three cases of turkeys were also donated to Englewood Meals on Wheels (MOW). John Bienkowski, Gerry Greiff, Bob Stayrook and Newt Webb from

Rotary Club Ladies Help with Habitat for Humanity
On Saturday, October 17, the ladies from the Rotary Club of Englewood participated in the South Sarasota County Habitat for Humanity’s Women Build. The Habitat’s goal is to build or renovate safe, decent, affordable, energy efficient homes for those in need. Participating in this year’s  Women’s Build were (l – r:) Julia Mercier, Deborah Hegedus, Karen Current, Janet Shawen and Chris Cameron.
