Englewood Democratic Club holds elections

The Englewood Democratic Club held its election of officers and board members for 2020 on February 26. At that meeting it was also announced that newly elected president, David Jones, is running as a candidate for the Florida House of Representatives District 75. The club continues to grow, doubling its voting membership in the last few months and several new members were welcomed at the meeting. The club is active in the community, participating in local events such as building an award-winning Environmental float for the Pioneer Days Parade, staffing a booth at the Thursday Farmers Market and donating to public service groups such as Meals on Wheels and the first responders. Whenever possible, the club has speakers to inform members on various issues with Q&A sessions afterwards. You are invited to attend the monthly meetings, open to all, which are held the 4th Wednesday of each month at 5:30pm in the Elsie Quirk Library, 100 West Dearborn. Note: Meetings are temporarily suspended due to COVID-19. Democrats registered to vote in Florida are eligible to join as voting members; however, any U.S. registered voter, regardless of affiliation, may join the club as an associate (non-voting) member. The club works to ensure they are “of the people, by the people, and for the people”.
