Kylee Green, age 3, from last year’s pageant.

On Saturday, August 17, the Little Miss Englewood Pageant will take place at the Englewood United Methodist Church, 700 E Dearborn St. Onsite registration starts at 9am, the pageant at 10am. There is an entrant fee for contestants of $30 - add $10 per sibling after the initial fee. Contestants of all ages from infant to 12 years old are welcome to participate. There are seven age groups. Children of all ages will be judged on natural beauty, overall appearance, poise, personality, stage presence and not based on attire. Children aged 43 months and up will be interviewed by the emcee to bring out their personality and just have fun. It is suggested that you have things to entertain your child and maybe a snack. Within the categories, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners will be chosen and invited to ride on the Pioneer Day Parade float on Monday, September 2. A packet with all the information and a release form will need to be filled out and signed. Admission is $2 per person - or bring four cans of non-perishable food for the food bank. The pageant will end around 2pm. Registration will be done on-site; however, forms will be available online and at Englewood United Methodist Church. Please direct any questions to the event chair, Dianna Walston: diannawalston@gmail.com. The website has a full list of events as well as more information: www.englewoodpioneerdays.com.
