Recognizing the need and the importance of having hand sanitizer available, Lemon Bay Sunrise Rotary Club developed a solution. They partnered with a Florida-based commercial manufacturer of hand sanitizer to acquire hand sanitizer that could be given out to the needy and homeless as well as meet the community’s need. The Club has been donating the hand sanitizer to food pantries, churches including Hope Community Church in North Port, Project Phoenix and other organizations that can hand it out to the homeless. The public can also acquire the hand sanitizer in gallon containers for a donation of $20 at locations here in town: Shell Gas Station/Market, 241 S. Indiana Avenue; Dearborn Corner Market, 598 W. Dearborn Street; Stiver’s Tire & Auto, 850 S. River Road and Hamshear Homes, 12366 N. Access Road, Port Charlotte. Periodic distribution dates will also be held at Stiver’s Tire & Auto. Monies raised will be used to purchase 2oz bottles of sanitizer to supply the homeless and those in need. The club project was a result of an idea that member George Fowler had when he wanted to purchase hand sanitizer on his own to give away and was unable to find it. You can find product information at www.purgotestresults.com. If you wish to place a larger order, please contact George at georgefowler4554@comcast.net.
